POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS

Dr Richard A. Fuller

Graduated in Zoology from the University of Bristol (1994). Worked at an international relief and development agency for a couple of years, then obtained a Masters from Imperial College, London (1998). Several fieldwork contracts were held with the British Trust for Ornithology and a contract from the World Pheasant Association to compile global IUCN status surveys for several bird groups. Obtained a PhD in avian foraging ecology from the University of Durham (2003) and began working as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at Sheffield in 2004.

Project: Valuing open space: Ecological sustainability of urban spaces

Research interests:

  • structure and function of urban ecosystems
  • dynamics of geographic ranges
  • systematic conservation planning for Galliformes
  • ecology and conservation of threatened African Galliformes
  • bird survey techniques
